Dr. Jeannette Cheu earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry. She completed her clinical training in ocular disease at East New York Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Brooklyn, NY. Working alongside prominent optometrists and ophthalmologists, Dr. Cheu received specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. She worked with patients diagnosed with advanced low vision at The Lighthouse Low Vision Center in NYC.

She is an active member of AOA and NYSOA. As a student she was part of the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and volunteered her time to an international optometric mission providing eye care in Peru. Dr. Cheu is dedicated to her patients and ensures that they receive the best care possible. She stays up to date with the latest eye care technology and treatments.

A graduate of Manhattan College and SUNY Optometry, Dr. Gregory Lopez brings more than 30 years of experience to the Eyes & Optics team.

Born and raised in New York City and fluent in Spanish, Dr. Lopez has spent most of his career treating a multitude of patients from various countries and cultures in the Elmhurst / Jackson Heights area. This experience has given him a unique perspective toward patient care. It is not uncommon for Dr. Lopez to treat 3 or 4 generations of the same family, from toddlers to great-grandparents in their 90's.

He diagnoses and treats all patient eye care issues with the highest level of experience and dedication and always takes the time to answer all patient questions thoroughly and professionally.

Joanna Sarantakos is a capable and friendly optometrist based in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Sarantakos completed her undergraduate career at New York University, where she earned her degree in biochemistry. She received her training in optometry at the State University of New York College of Optometry. Dr. Sarantakos is currently a member of the American Optometric Association.

Patients see Dr. Sarantakos for a myriad of reasons, including glaucoma, allergic eye problems, cornea problems, diabetic retinopathy, double vision, dry eye, corneal abrasions, flasher and floaters, and hordeolum. Consequently, Dr. Sarantakos is adept at treating and managing a broad range of disorders affecting the eye.

Dr. Sarantakos is fluent in English, Greek, Spanish, and Creole. She is devoted to ensuring the longevity of her patients eye health and developing long-lasting relationships with them. She prioritizes their needs and comfort above all else and treats them with absolute care and deference. Her consultations are consistently thorough.

David Wasserlauf OD was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. Following high school, he attended Touro College in Flushing, NY and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology cum laude. Subsequently, he enrolled at the State University of New York College of optometry where he earned his doctor of optometry degree in June, 2013.

Dr. Wasserlauf joined the staff at Eyes and Optics in September, 2013 as an optometrist providing comprehensive eye care. He is very committed to providing the highest level of eye care to all of his patients and constantly keeps up with the latest in ophthalmology literature. In his rare spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 adorable children and following sports.

Dr. David Pugliese is originally from Rhode Island and graduated from Providence College in 2010 with a B.S. in Biology and a Pre-Optometry concentration. He was one of the founding members of the Pre-Optometry group at Providence College for those students interested in a career in optometry.

Dr. Pugliese graduated in 2013 from the New England College of Optometry and began practicing at private practices in Norwell, MA, Cambridge, MA and Smithfield, RI where he did many cataract screening, diabetic eye exams, pediatric eye exams and contact lens evaluations.

Dr. Pugliese is no stranger to the optometric business. During college he worked as an optician's assistant at his father's practice in Rhode Island and became knowledgeable in glasses fitting, repair and adjustment as well as optometric testing such as fundus photography, OCT, visual field and corneal topography.
